Ми застосували технiку перетворень Фур’є з метою визначення макротурбулентної швидкостi при умові, що мiкротурбулентна швидкiсть та швидкiсть обертання зiрки невiдомi. Щоб вiдокремити ефекти обертання вiд ефектiв макротурбулентностi для зiр з дуже повільним обертанням, ми аналiзували в основному головну пелюстку в залишкових фур’є-образах спектральних лiнiй. Такий складний випадок для даної технiки був протестований на багатьох лiнiях у спектрі Сонця як зорi та у спектрах двох зiрок. Результати фур’є - аналiзу задовiльно узгоджуються з результатами iнших методiв. Середнi значення мiкротурбулентної і макротурбулентної швидкостей та швидкостi обертання склали вiдповiдно 0.85, 2.04 i 1.75 км/с для Сонця, 0.58, 1.73 i 0.78 км/с для HD 10700 та 1.16, 3.56 i 6.24 км/с для HD 1835. Виявлено, що макротурбулентна швидкiсть зменшується з висотою в атмосферi Сонця та зорi HD 1835. Для зорi HD 10700 вона не змiнюється з висотою, а значення швидкостi обертання зорi майже удвічі менше, нiж отримане iншими методами. Зроблено висновок, що метод Фур’є можна застосовувати для визначення швидкостей в атмосферах зiрок сонячного типу з дуже повiльним обертанням.
